Which one would perform better in order of sound quality?
well, apart from the fact it is a bit like comparing apples and pears (the fiio is a usb dac/headphone amp, kali/Piano an i2s combo on top of an sbc), I cannot think where the Fiio would be better.
I have a Fiio E18 Kunlun with nearly identical dac specs and need to configure the audio sound driver so the linux kernel doesn’t crash with certain audio formats. Other than that, the Fiio’s does a splendid job as a headphone dac/amp, especially on my android phone. Would want to miss it, but I have no other use for it.
The Kali/ Piano is a completely different league and my favorite at the moment.
Sound quality is in my opinion way ahead of the Fiio (E18), much more sound detail with a warm, powerful bass.
