FFmpeg - not able to install

Hi all,

I’m trying to install FFmpeg onto my raspberry pi running volumio and get the following issue. Please could someone steer me in the right direction.

volumio@volumio:~$ sudo apt install -y ffmpeg

The following information may help to resolve the situation:

ffmpeg : Depends: libavcodec58 (= 7:4.1.8-0+deb10u1+rpt1)
Depends: libavdevice58 (= 7:4.1.8-0+deb10u1+rpt1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libavfilter7 (= 7:4.1.8-0+deb10u1+rpt1)
Depends: libavformat58 (= 7:4.1.8-0+deb10u1+rpt1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Why would you even install ffmpeg?

It’s like adding a pendulum to your Rolex

i’d like to use the same RP for volumio to encode audiobooks from m4b to mp3

I think you’re going to mess up Volumio. Please convert them on a different system and store the MP3’s for volumio.

:ok_hand:

sound advice !!
