failure to start DHCP server

I’m trying a second time to load Volumio onto a raspi B+.
I downloaded a fresh image and booted the raspi. Volumio installs (version 2) but there is an error message on start up.

[FAILED] Failed to start LSB: DHCP server
see ‘systemctl status isc-dhcp-server.service’ for details

I logged in to the root, and ran the command “systemctl status isc-dhcp-server.service” it resulted in the following message:

no subnet declaration for eth0 (

  • ignoring requests on eth0. If this is not what
you want, please write a subnet declaration in your dhcpd.conf file for the network segment
Failed to start LSB: DCHP server
    unit isc-dhcp-server.wervice entered failed state

note: I can ping the ip address ( from elsewhere on the network with no problem
note: the system also recognizes the wireless adapter hardware but does not start a wlan0 process

any idea why this failure might be occurring?

Exactly the same problem with my brand new Rpi3b.
When connected with the Ethernet cable and using the IP address rather than volumio.local, I could play web radios but nothing else.
With the Wifi, I can just see the web interface and that’s it.
Any advice is welcome.

Same here with my Rasp2b… Definitely need some help.

Same here…

Unable to get up from DHCP server from my router

Same here any news on this?

Don’t bother this error message, it’s harmless. Plus what you need is a dhcp client, not a server.
We should have fixed the issue causing this particular offending behaviour, a new image will be out soon hopefully
