Enable hardware volume control for Hifiberry DAC+

Hi

According to manual it should possible use hardware control for volume in HifiBerry DAC+.

I have enabled hardware control from the Volumio GUI, but nothing seems to happen. I can not change volume either from Volumio GUI or DLNA client.

I found some other posts in this site regarding DAC+ and they pointed out that mpd.config must be set in a certain way. I have checked my mpd.config and it is according to instructions in those posts (Volumio GUI seems to set up everything )

Is there some steps I am missing in the setup?

I am running Volumio 1.55 on a Raspberry 2.

//lg

Never mind. Now it is working.
After fiddling around a couple of hours, it suddenly starded to work. I cant help others, because I dont know what change that did it…

Hi,

Are you comfortable with ssh and the command line?

Anyway, connect via ssh and do the follow:

root@volumio:~# amixer

You should see something like this:

Then check the mpd.conf which, in my case, needs the following setup:
audio_output {

 type "alsa"
 name "Output"
 device "hw:0,0"
 mixer_control "Digital"
 mixer_device "hw:0"
 mixer_index "0"
 dop "no"

}
(Note the Digital, which is the correct setting, I think because of some updates I did).
