I am totally new to this 
so really need a helping hand.
I have connected my RPI3 and Kali + Piano DAC via ethernet cable, and get the message “volumio.local’s server DNS address could not be found”, why do I do wrong?

If you are on windows, install itunes (really, not joking) and restart your pc . If you’re on android, volumio.local does not work

thx for the tip. Itunes is installed, but wasn’t running, so I’ll try that.

What you’re actually trying to achieve is get the ‘bonjour’ service running. It’s sometimes called a “print service,” which can be confusing, but it is actually a general way of determining which devices are on a LAN.
