Can one make the mpd binary shipped with volumio use a gzipped tag_cache ?
Does mpd even supports it? What are the advantages of such solution?
Yes it does, on my Ubuntu PC, mpd uses a gzipped tag_cache, and I even couldn’t find a way to make it use a non zipped one… So ATM I can’t share a given tag_cache file between volumio and my PC.
Even if you could share it would not work for files residing in different paths… You would need to match your FS with Volumio’s…
