Can't connect Volumio to ReadyShare USB

Hello guys,

first of all: I am totally new to linux, so please forgive dump questions or suggestions.

I set up Volumio 1.55 at a Raspberry Pi 2connected via LAN and static IP to my router “Netgear Nighthawk R7000”. I connected a HDD via USB2 to the router to stream my music from it. The HDD works fine as a net drive on Windows and MAC but i won’t work with Volumio. Most of the time i only see “Webradio” at the browse tap. Sometimes it shows “NAS” but when i open it it’s always empty. I hit the “update library” some times, even let it run for hours to see if it just takes some time but it won’t work.
When i connect the HDD via USB to the Raspi it shows the first files almost instantly after updating.

So my actual question is: how to tell Volumio or linux a correct source.

This was my last try:
source name: “MP3 Share”
fileshare protocol: “SMB/CIFS”
IP adress: “192.168.44.1”
remote directory: “/mp3share” (also tried “//readyshare/mp3share”)
username:
pass:

And this is my answer:

Last system mount error mount error(22): Invalid argument Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

Please help a total newbie.

I too struggled with this, in the end I gave up on trying to use the webUI at all. Instead I downloaded the Lumin app on my iPad which connected to both the ReadyShare and the Volumio.

Try

remote directory: “mp3share”

Without the /

try to build the root of the folders like this …

\ USB_Storage \ (folder name)

so without IP or words (\ readyshare)

I have a Netgear router and I solved it like this …
