Can I use IR to turn Pi?

HI,guys

I have a hifiberry digi+ with a IR receiver

I want to know if turn on the IR

can I use it to be a switch for Pi?

You can use the IR receiver on your DigiPi to tirn the Pi off.

If you want to turn it on you need additional hardware. For example a RemotePi Board from MSL Digital Solutions.

As for Me I use old version of Raspberry (B).
For it you can try this:
I used a button connected to pins P6
raspi.tv/2012/making-a-reset-swi … spberry-pi
It makes Raspberry turn on & reset.
So together with LIRC I have on/off control and some more.
