Il mio nome su questo forum è Aster e sono un utente abbastanza soddisfatto di Volumio e questo è il mio primo post su questo forum.

Da poco ho acquistato il pacchetto Virtuoso, sopratutto per poter utilizzare il Bluetooth, ma ho un piccolo problema che spero possa essere risolto dal team di sviluppo. In pratica ho installato il plugin per il controllo dell’amplificatore che funziona molto bene, ma questo non riconosce lo streaming del Bluetooth perché Volumio non dichiara nessuno status e l’amplificatore di conseguenza non si attiva. Si può inserire lo status “play” in modo che il plugin possa riconoscerlo?

Secondo piccolo problema: uso Firefox 75 su Ubuntu 20.04 e noto che dopo pochi minuti sparisce il background della homepage di Volumio. Questo non succede con Cromium e nemmeno su dispositivi mobili. Su Firefox di Ubuntu per far ricomparire il background devo ricaricare la pagina. Si può fare qualcosa per questo piccolo problema?

Sono in attesa del nuovo DAC hifiberry Dac+ Pro (dopo un pifi Dac+ V2.0 mandato in fumo) ed ho visto che presto sarà incluso nella nuova release di Volumio. Si può avere qualche informazione in più sulla data di rilascio?

My name on this forum is Aster and I am a fairly satisfied user of Volumio and this is my first post on this forum.

I recently purchased the Virtuoso package, especially to be able to use Bluetooth, but I have a small problem that I hope can be solved by the development team. In practice I installed the amplifier control plugin which works very well, but this does not recognize the streaming of Bluetooth because Volumio does not declare any status and the amplifier consequently does not activate. Can the “play” status be entered so that the plugin can recognize it?

Second small problem: I use Firefox 75 on Ubuntu 20.04 and I notice that after a few minutes the background of the Volumio homepage disappears. This doesn’t happen with Cromium and not even on mobile devices. On Ubuntu Firefox to reload the background I have to reload the page. Can anything be done about this small problem?

I’m waiting for the new Dac hifiberry Dac + Pro (after a pifi Dac + V2.0 sent up in smoke) and I saw that it will soon be included in the new release of Volumio. Can you get more information on the release date?

Hi Aster and welcome!
Volumio bluetooth has metadata support, but this is really dependent on the Bluetooth sender capability.
From which system\app are you sending Bluetooth data?

For example, we noticed that if you play a youtube video from some Linux distributions to Volumio, the metadata don’t get updated properly…
Can you tell us from which device you send?

Dopo la tua risposta ho fatto test sia su windows 10 che su Ubuntu 20.04 ed ho visto che il problema si manifesta con i file multimediali aperti tramite browser (Cromium, Firefox, Edge). Con l’applicazione di Spotify per Ubuntu non ho avuto problemi. Quindi, come hai detto tu c’è un problema di comunicazione dei metadata che ritengo di difficile soluzione. Con le app di Android non ci sono grossi problemi, tranne su youtube se si salta la pubblicità prima del video.
Ma il problema mi è sorto con il plugin Amplifier switch che fatica a decodificare i metadata che arrivano in maniera confusa.
A questo punto mi sembra più logico intervenire gestendo manualmente il plugin Amplifier switch in modo che possa garantire l’audio anche se i metadata sono sballati.
Avendo inserito un telecomando configurato con lirc vorrei inviare una chiamata tramite un tasto libero dello stesso per gestire il plugin in modo da inviare dal telecomando un segnale tipo “toggle ON - OFF” sul Gpio che attivi o disattivi l’amplificatore. Se puoi darmi una mano solo per capire come, dandomi qualche input te ne sarei grato.

After your answer I did tests on both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 and I saw that the problem manifests itself with the multimedia files opened via the browser (Cromium, Firefox, Edge). With the Spotify application for Ubuntu I had no problems. So, as you said, there is a metadata communication problem that I believe is difficult to solve. With Android apps there are no big problems, except on Youtube if you skip the advertisement before the video.
But the problem arose with the Amplifier switch plugin which struggles to decode the metadata that arrive in a confusing way.
At this point it seems more logical to intervene by manually managing the Amplifier switch plugin so that it can guarantee audio even if the metadata isn’t unpacked.
Having inserted a remote configured with lirc I would like to send a call via a free button to manage the plugin so as to send a “toggle ON - OFF” signal on the GPIO from the remote that activates or deactivates the amplifier. If you can give me a hand just to understand how, by giving me some input I would be grateful.
