True, but there is no advantage in using the HAT with a Pi 4.

Hi all,

After reflashing the SD card and using Volumio - always on - for a few weeks, I finally shut down the system per HeadGeek’s suggested protocol. All worked as it should on shutdown and startup.

Best thing I’ve found is a hat called the Witty Pi 3. Will turn off the Pi once it senses a shutdown or restart and can safely shut down the Pi at the click of a button on the board or from a remote switch, arduino, relay, whatever at the external switch header. Can start the Pi, too.
