Audio stutter when playing music from NAS

Hi,

When I play FLAC audio files from a NAS, I get audio stutter/loss. If I copy the music to Ramplay and play from that location, there is no audio stutter/loss.

Some background information:

  1. I have Volumio version 1.1 beta installed and have mounted my NAS via NFS
  2. Connection between NAS and PI is ethernet.
  3. DAC used is the DDDAC:
    dddac.com/sales_1794.html

I get the impression that it is related to the USB problems the PI has/had as mentioned in:
raspyfi.com/raspberry-pi-usb-audio-fix/
Because when playing from Ramplay, I immediately get audio stutter/loss when I start copying large files to my Pi .

Hi,

Did some investigation and I figured it out!

I accidentally was using a class 4 SD card. After installing Volumio on a class 10 SD card the problem is gone.

So the solution to this problem is to mention on the Volumio website that a class 10 SD card should be used.

Furthermore, my compliments to the creators of Volumio. It is very easy to install and it works like a charm!
