Audio input over HDMI

Hey,
I’m using the Volumio with Raspberry pi and hifiberry DAC for streaming music on my sound system.
I’m also using my TV, PC and Gaming Stations via Hdmi matrix on a Beamer and the audio from this via aux.
I want to use the Volumio for audio with hdmi input on my sound system.
Is it possible to take the hdmi as audio source for output on the DAC?

Is it possible to add this as sources in the future?

This feature can work only if supported via hardware, HDMI eArc to be specific…
We are looking into it but the only device that seems to support it as of now is Khadas Vim
