Looks like the card’s driver is failing to load.
Normally you should see something along the lines of pcm512x-hifi <-> 3f203000.i2s mapping ok

Maybe re-check your connections are all good?

yes, it seems so, like i said, i had the green light always on to the PWR led (but not on the led1) of the miniboss DAC and light on the Raspberry pi zero W.

what else i can check?

Well, I’d check if the Pi can see the codec with sudo i2cdetect -y 1. If you have another Pi, then would suggest swapping stuff around to figure out of it’s the Pi or the card at fault.

This DAC needs a special driver, since it needs to set the RPi in slave mode and also communicate with it via I2C to set operating parameters and utilize the PCM5122’s hardware volume control.

i suggest for this kind of DAC ( Allo miniboss I2S DAC) use raspberry pi zero wh or a 3 b plus
or use gpio hammer header

now i see the second led1 green on the Allo miniboss board when i reproduce music and blink on time at the start of the raspberry
