Adhoc ethernet connection

Hi,

while still struggling with getting a working ad hoc wireless connection, I decided to try with a wired connection.
I added IP=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx in cmdline.txt, but it didn’t work.

Any suggestion?

Hello,

By default Volumio needs a DHCP server to get it’s IP address. You can change it to a static address with the UI but best is to tell the DHCP server to bind a static address to a known MAC address.
I have always found the Wifi setup to be very unstable so I changed to an ethernet cable and never had problem since. (and yes my Wifi dongle is from the list of known “working” devices…).
