Adding new USB DAC

Is there a way to add a new USB ZAC to the ones that Volumio is aware of? I have a parasound ZDAC.

When I do a aplay -l I can see the DAC.

card 5: ZDAC [ZDAC], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

IT seems to be a sequence of events issue.

I had to reboot the system (more than a volumio restart). I noticed that the operating system saw a new USB device (ZDAK), Upon completion the DAC showed up in the menu in volumio. So it seems that the USB device needs to be powered up and connected upon hardware boot for it to work.

It is working now with one exception. I do not have any volume controls in volumio and there is no mixer available.

That is the case with a lot of the USB Audio devices.
