I’m using an old Cambridge Audio Dacmagic 1 as my DAC. The DAC gets its input over SPDIF from a USB soundcard (aliexpress.com/item/PCM2704 … 0.0.fXiWJE ) that is connected to my raspberry pi running volumio.
My issue is that the DAC is only capable of 16 bit sample size and Volumio says that it is playing flac (and mp3) files in 24 bit. Wouldn’t only 16 of the 24 bits be decoded? When using the spotify plugin Volumio says 16 bit.
Can you change it to only 16 bit?
